General Privacy Notice and Policies
The booking policies for our private boat tours on Skadar Lake, and how we handle your personal data when you use this website or book with us.
1. Booking policies
Booking and payment
- Book by WhatsApp, phone, email or online through our booking calendar. A booking is confirmed once the captain confirms your date and time.
- No deposit or prepayment is needed. You pay the captain on the day of the tour, in cash (euros).
- Prices are per boat, not per person, and include the private boat, the captain and life jackets for everyone on board.
Group size and boats
- Every tour is private: only your group is on board, from 1 guest upwards.
- Our boats seat 6 to 10 guests. The Amazon route runs with a maximum of 9 guests.
- For bigger groups we arrange a second boat. Tell us your group size when you book.
Cancellation
- Free cancellation up to 24 hours before your tour.
- If your plans change later than that, please message us as early as you can so we can offer the slot to other guests.
Weather
- Tours run in light rain. The captain decides on the day whether conditions are safe.
- If we cancel because of storms or strong wind, you choose: a free new date or a full refund of anything you have paid.
Children
- Children are welcome. Because the price is per boat, they don't cost extra, but they count towards the number of seats.
- Life jackets are provided for all passengers. Tell us your children's ages when you book so the right sizes are on board.
- Shorter tours suit younger children. There are no lifeguards at swim stops, so please supervise children near the water.
National Park fee
- The Skadar Lake National Park fee is not included in the boat price: €5 per person per day (2026). Children up to 15 enter free.
On the day
- Please arrive 10 minutes before your start time. If you're running late, message the captain. A late start may shorten the tour if the next booking can't be moved.
- Pets: please ask before booking.
- The captain may change or shorten a route for safety, water levels or protected wildlife areas.
2. Who we are
Family Jovicevic Skadar Lake Boat Tours: private boat tours with Captain Duško from the pier in Rijeka Crnojevića, Skadar Lake National Park, Montenegro. 3. What data we collect
When you book or ask a question
- The details you send us by WhatsApp, phone, email or our online booking calendar (Cal.com): your name, phone or WhatsApp number, email address, chosen tour, date and time, number of guests and anything you add, such as children's ages.
- A short booking reference (for example SBA-G7K2), created in your browser and included in your message so we can match your booking to your enquiry.
When you use this website
- Technical data needed to deliver the page, processed by our hosting provider: IP address, browser type and request logs.
- Which ad or campaign brought you here (for example Google or Meta click IDs and utm_ campaign tags in the link you clicked), kept with your booking reference for the current browser session.
- With your consent only (visitors in the EU/EEA, UK and Switzerland see a cookie banner): how you use the page, such as clicks on booking buttons, scroll depth, device type and approximate location, measured through Google Tag Manager and the tools it loads (Google Analytics, Google Ads, Meta Pixel, Microsoft Clarity).
We don't ask for payment details on this website. You pay the captain on the day.
4. Why we use it (legal bases)
- To answer your enquiry and run your tour: steps before and performance of a contract with you (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)).
- To measure and improve our ads and this page: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a)). You can withdraw it at any time with “Cookie settings” at the bottom of the main page.
- To keep the website secure and working, and to see which campaigns bring bookings: our legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)).
- To meet legal obligations, such as accounting and tax records (Art. 6(1)(c)).
We follow the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Montenegro's Law on Personal Data Protection. We don't sell your personal data.
5. Who receives it
- WhatsApp (Meta Platforms) when you message us on WhatsApp.
- Cal.com when you book a time slot online.
- Vercel, which hosts this website.
- Google (Tag Manager, Analytics, Ads), Meta (Pixel) and Microsoft (Clarity), for measurement and ads, only after you accept cookies.
- YouTube (Google), in privacy-enhanced mode, only if you press play on the video.
Some of these providers are based in the USA. Where data leaves the EU/EEA, they rely on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
6. How long we keep it
- Booking messages and records: as long as needed to arrange and run your tour, then only as long as the law requires (for example for accounting).
- Session storage (booking reference, campaign details): deleted when you close the browser tab.
- Your cookie choice: kept in your browser until you clear it or change it.
- Measurement data: according to each tool's retention settings (for example up to 14 months in Google Analytics).
7. Cookies and similar storage
Visitors in the EU/EEA, UK and Switzerland are asked before any measurement or advertising cookies are set. Elsewhere they are on by default, and everyone can switch them off with “Cookie settings” on the main page.

Cal.com and YouTube set their own cookies only when you open the booking calendar or play the video. Cookie names and lifetimes are set by each provider and may change.
8. Your rights
You can ask us to:
- see the personal data we hold about you and get a copy of it,
- correct it or delete it,
- restrict or object to how we use it,
- send it to you or another provider in a common format,
- stop using it for anything you consented to (withdrawing consent doesn't affect what was done before).

We may update this page when our tours, tools or the law change. The date at the top shows the latest version.
